CN PROJECT GUIDELINES

The Instructions for CN Project Conduction are as follows:

1. The project must be related to Communication Networks concepts.

2. Hardware / Software implementation is allowed (Kit based or languages like C, C++,.JAVA, etc.,)

3. There is no limitation on selecting the Tool for implementing the project (ex: MATLAB, QUALNET, NS2, NS3, CISCO Packet Tracer etc.,).

4. The deadline for the final (including verification of duplicates)synopsis/Abstract Submission is 23rd Sept 2017.

5. The demonstration of the Project work is after the 2nd Sessional. Date of project demonstration will be informed accordingly.

6. Internal Assessment of Project is for 8 Marks. 

7. Maximum 3 members per group.

8. The project acceptance is first come first serve basis.

9. No duplications in project selection are allowed.

10. Formation of group is according to your convenience (within the section).

NOTE:

1. There is 50% of penalty in violation of deadlines.

 

2. If guidance is required in choosing the project, You are suggested to meet the corresponding CN Faculty.

3. For getting idea about the topics to be chosen, here I am mentioning few topics:

 i)  Error Control Techniques like Hamming code, Parity check, Checksum, CRC etc.,

 ii) Flow Control like Simple Stop-and-Wait Protocol, Stop-and-Wait ARQs (Go-Back-N, Selective-Repeat ARQ Protocols)

iii) Network Layer Protocols (Dijkstra's Algorithm, Bellman-Ford, Distance- Vector Routing, Link State Routing, OSPF, RIP, BGP, IPv4, IPv6 etc.,) 

iv) Transport Layer Protocols (TCP, UDP etc.,)

v) Application layer Protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, DNS, SMTP, SNMP, POP etc.,)
